May I Introduce Myself?

Hello everyone, my name is Wade Harmon and welcome to my blog! Yay! I am eighteen years old, and a freshman at Florida Gulf Coast University. I was born and raised in the beautiful city of Naples, Florida. Although my home is only half of an hour away from here, it still seems like my friends and family live so far. On June 3rd, 2011, I graduated from Naples High School, and officially started my college life!
On September 26, 1992, I was born in the Naples Community Hospital to two of the most loving parents, William and Cheryl Harmon. As a young child I was interested by anything and everything, thus leading to a very active childhood. Through my young years I played almost every sport a kid possibly could, but baseball was the sport I first played and devoted my life to. If I wasn’t on the field, I wished I was. Every weekend, I was in different towns and cities all over Florida, Georgia, and even played in a tournament in London and Amsterdam! At Naples High School I lettered three years on varsity, played close to 400 games, including the one loss 2009 Class 3A State Championship team. My senior year I decided that this would be my last year playing baseball. I don’t see my baseball career going any further than the collegiate level, so why waste time on something I love when I know it will eventually end?
Now my life is at FGCU, where I am focusing on my studies and a job at the Campus Recreation Office as a referee for Intramural Sports Clubs. Back at Naples High I was in the engineering academy where I took five engineering classes plus a drafting class. I loved all of the classes and they came easily to me. As a child I loved being in the outdoors and nature when I went hunting and fishing, so I put my love for engineering and nature together to figure out my major would be environmental engineering. Thankfully FGCU had it as a choice for a major because I already loved the campus and planned on coming here. My plans for the future right now is to transfer to the University of Florida as my past generations bleed orange and blue, but things may change, because my life here right now is close to perfection. So comment! Ask me questions, talk to me I love making new friends. Thanks for reading and see you in class!

  1. I went to Lely High School. I understand where you're coming from with not continuing playing your sport for college. I lettered all 4 years in track and 2 in cross country and I love running and I wanted to run for FGCU so bad, but I needed to focus on my studies and a job as well.
